Two Places At Once!

So yesterday we got up and decided to head to Greenwich (pronounced Gren-itch). I will be posting about it later under my "London Walks" column on the right hand side for my class, but I will give you a bried synopsis.

We took the tube there and then caught the District Light Rail (which is basically the same thing, but above ground).
We actually lost one of the girls in our group, each of us though she was with someone else and then we got off the train and she wasn't there we felt so bad, but without cell phones we had no way of getting a hold of her...thankfully we found her later.

We got off and had to walk through an underground tunnel, under the river Thames, to get to the otherside, pretty cool.
Once we were above ground we headed to a tourist information center, where we tried on some fun clothes.
This is Kristen and I as royal navy men...or women! Her outfit was actually one that people wore when they had sinned, so the whole city knew. Ha.
This is me, if you couldn't tell, wearing a knight's helmet. It was SO heavy. This is also me reenacting Single Ladies by Beyonce, she has a similar glove on. Ha.

We then went in a couple churches and other places and then we hiked up a huge hill to the Prime Meridian. (For those of you who don't know what it is, it is the place where all time is set from and it is also the center of the world!)
You know how in "A Walk to Remember" how the boy takes the girl to the state border so she can stand in two places at once, well that is nothing compared to what I did. Try standing on two sides of the world/hemispheres at once. Yeah, beat that Landon!

Afterwards we walked back down and went to the Queens house. I am not sure which Queen...possibly Queen Anne, but she had the coolest staircase ever and one that I have always dreamed of walking down in a big ball gown as I was presented as, "Aubrie Hansen, Princess of Chandler". Hey, a girl can dream right? (In the picture below I am waving to my kingdom).
We then went to the National Maritime Museum...it was filled with boats. End of story.
We then had an interesting experience on the tube because the window was open and so because it was moving so fast, this is what happened.
For dinner that night we went out to Zizzi's. It was a really good Italian restauraunt but the food had things on it, different than what I am use to. Take my pizza for example...it had a pine tree on it...weird.
It was also strange because they opened up most of the doors and so where I was sitting my back was facing the sidewalk and was completely open to the people walking by. Some people from the center came by and tried to scare me, but it didn't work.

After we went to the store so we could get a few things for our trip this week. (This is my notice to you all...I am leaving for Scottland on Monday and I will be gone for 3 days so don't stress when I don't blog. I will be back shortly!) Anyways... we go into Tesco and I go down to the Biscuits (cookies) and crips (chips) isle and there is a man there. He kind of looks at me for a second and then looks away and says softly..."Pretty Eyes". CREEPER! I found my friends and got out of there ASAP! Ha.
Cheerio!

  1. Actually, I was thinking of Princess Buttercup, but "Aubrie" works out pretty well. Hope you find the man in black. I am now even more jealous because you're going to Scotland. Yur gaun to ra shoaps? Of course you will. BTW, that pine tree looks like Rosemary, a member of the Mint family. Her sister Pepper is quite popular I hear. Laters! :o)
