There's a First Time For Everything...

So yesterday was packed full of stuff. We got up in the morning and headed to Westminster Abbey. It is a large church where many famous people are buried. This includes Issac Newton, Charles Dickens, George Fredric Handel, Winston Churchill and Lewis Carroll.
This is the picture of me and my group who presented on Westminster Abbey in our London Prep Class.
We couldn't take pictures inside (bummer)and so this time I actually decided to obey and not take any. It was beautiful and amazing with stained glass windows, marble floors and vaulted ceilings. I can't even describe it.
After that we went and ate at Trafalgar Squarae our sandwiches.

Here I am with my PB&N...again! Haha.

We then went to the Cabinet War Rooms and Churchill Museum. It was all about Winston Churchill and about World War II and how they worked, survived and lived underground to stop the war. It was really interesting and neat to learn about.
As we walked around we had little telephones that we listened to that told us all the history at each sight. Cool!
That night we had dinner and then we decided...to...go...to...the...Young Single Adult Dance! Believe me, I was not too excited to go and could already see how awkward it would be! But a group of us decided to go anyways.

This is us as normal, cute girls, ready to dance the night away.

Here is us acting awkward (how we assumed we would look and act at the dance).

So someone told us it started at a different time than it really did and so we showed up too early. (It didn't start until 9:30, weird). So we had a little time to kill and so we went to see Big Ben and the London Eye, lit up at night. It was so neat!

This reminded me so much of the movie Peter Pan. We all broke out into song singing "The Second Star to the Right!"

The London Eye at night!

Isn't this picture cool!?!
So we finally made it to the dance and I felt so weird being there. When we walked in there were about 7 of us American girls and then about 4 or so European boys. They were not really friendly and maybe a little strange so we just danced a little in a group until more people came. The other BYU Study Abroad groups that are here showed up so it was about 90% BYU students and we were the only ones dance. And let me tell you...people here love their Techno music! Thats all they played.

Well... I was going to attach a video of Kristen and I dancing at the dance. (It may or may not be another scene from "Winning London". I did this for you Chuck!). But after 3 hours it is still not uploaded. Bummer. Maybe I will try later!
We actually stayed at the dance longer than we expected and had a pretty good time...though I have no intention of ever going to another one again!
Cheerio!
