Quoting the Book of Nephi...

So on Sunday we had to get up early to go to church. We decided we would leave at 8:40. We were all ready to go by then...except for Jared, the only boy in our group! How long does it take a boy to get ready? And so we called his room and let him know that we were walking to the tube stop. We got to the tube stop and we didn't see Jared but we got on anyways (our train was leaving Victoria Station at 9:20). We were just hoping he got on. We then got to Victoria and hopped on our train...we didn't see Jared.

We felt bad about leaving him but knew if we left any later we would be late to church (the train leaves every 30 minutes). To help us feel better about the situation we read 1 Nephi 4:13, it reads, "Behold the Lord slayeth the wicked to bring forth his righteous purposes. It is better that one man should perish than that a nation should dwindle and perish in unbelief."
We thought we were pretty clever and thought it applied quite nicely (No...Jared is not wicked but why should we perish and dwindle in unbelief?)
We made it to church on time...thankfully. It was a good thing we did because no one was there and so we had to be in charge of the music. Church started on time but there were only about 20 people in the audience. People eventually showed up later. We had a few interesting experiences at church, one being a man bore his testimony and then decided he wanted to say a prayer in the middle of it and then he didn't know how to finish it so he said, "I'm done, thank you." It was quite different from what I am use to, to say the least.
I was really excited to get a calling this week but the ward is quite disorganized and so we met with them after church and the 1st counselor lost his binder and so he said probably next week. We only have a few more weeks here so I won't be able to serve long but its just great to be in the ward. We even met a young couple there from Scotland who went to BYU and were both recent return missionaries. They said they would like to have us over for lunch one Sunday, how exciting and nice!

We finished off the day with dinner and a fireside! A nice, peaceful day to start off a crazy week!
