Best Day EVER!!!

Today, May 5th, will go down as the best day of my life ever! Today we went on a day trip to see places outside of London. We woke up early in the morning, packed our lunches and headed out to the coach.

It took us about two hours driving and we made it to Stonehenge. On the way there we learned that people are not exactly sure how it got there but there are theories that Merlin the Wizard built it...not so sure about that one!

Now...Stonehenge was cool, but seriously...it is a bunch of rocks. So, we had about 40 minutes to spend there and look at them so we decided to just take lots of pictures...

Ok, so this picture didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it too (my bottom hand isn't even pushing anything, but its the thought that counts...right?)
After that we went to a little church that is known for George Herbert the poet as he was a minster there. We spent about 20 minutes here. It was cute and quaint.

Now I am warning you...this may be the most picture filled blog yet. Though you have already seen many pictures, I haven't even began to scratch the surface of why I loved today so much. So sit down, relax, grab a sandwhich and enjoy yourself...you might be here a while.
After that we went to the Wilton House! It was amazing! I may have teared up a little when we got there. It was a beautiful, old mansion with ornate rooms inside and beautiful gardens surrounding it. I swear it was right out of a scene of Pride and Prejudice...oh wait, maybe it was!
We first walked around inside and it was gorgeous! We then walked into a specific room, called the cube room and I began to freak out...major! It is the place where scenes from Pride and Prejudice was filmed. It was the part in the movie where Georgiana is playing the piano and Elizabeth spies on her and Darcy. It is also the part in the movie where Georgiana, Darcy and Elizabeth all talk and we finally, for the first time, see Mr. Darcy happy and smiling! Ahhh. Love! So at first I was first upset because we were not allowed to take pictures inside. And so I MAY or may not have snapped a picture while hiding my camera under my armpit (Bad, I know. But when will I ever go back?)
This is the door Miss Elizabeth looked through (the exact one) when she was spying on Darcy and Georgiana.
And this is the room where it all happened. I am so excieted to watch the movie now! (P.S. The "Young Victoria" was also filmed there).
So I forgot to mention: the Earl of Pembroke actually still lives in the house. His picture was on our brochure and man, all of us girls fell in love immediately! He is gorgeous. There were pictures of him and his family all over the house! I decided I am going to marry him until sadly we found out he is engaged and getting married in a few weeks. It crushed my dreams but I figure I still have 3 weeks to sabatoge the wedding!
This is a good picture of what the house looked like from outside. We then walked around the gardens outside for an hour or so! Beautiful. I felt just like someone out of the Jane Austen books.

I didn't want to leave that place. It was amazing and I though I had gone literally into a book! I was sad to leave but I knew that I was going to marry the Earl and so of course I would be back soon, to live there forever! So no worries!
Sorry this is long and so many pictures but I actually took 200 yesterday so it is hard to choose which ones to show. We then went to what I call, "Heaven on Earth". I have never in my life been to somewhere more beautiful and peaceful! I just wanted to stay there all day. It was called Stourhead. Let me show and explain to you what I mean:
THIS

IS

STOURHEAD!!!

Now...of course I love Stourhead for its sheer beauty but I also have ulterior motives. What are these you may ask:
This is THE bridge that Elizabeth Bennet runs across in Pride and Prejudice in the pouring rain...
And where was she running you may ask. Well she was running HERE!!!!
Now I would be lying if I told you I didn't tear up a little when I saw this...because I did! This is my absolute most FAVORITE part in the entire movie! And I got to stand exactly in the spot where Darcy professes his love and proposal to Elizabeth Bennet to which she sadly rejects him! I was sad it was not raining while we were there but it was stil amazing!
This is the EXACT pole they stood next to in the movie (ok, I don't know that for a fact...but I like to pretend it was).
So of course while we were there we had to reenact the scene. I did it 3 times, with 2 different people. And each time I ended up being Elizabeth. Hey, I'm not complaining:
This is Jenni as Mr. Darcy looking fondly at me while I act mad and offended at her proposal.
This is Ryan pretending to be Mr.Darcy. He had never seen the movie and so he asked if he looked like him. I replied laughing, "No. Not at all!"
Lastly this is Kristen being Mr. Darcy. We were going to make a movie but ran out of time! (And I am sure when Elizbeth rejected him she was wearing jeans, holding a hot pink umbrella and popping her leg!)
As I am sure you my have guessed by now...I have hundered of more pictures of this exact spot, but I will save you the pain of seeing them all!
We then walked around the rest of the lake and took in how beautiful it was! We also went to the "Pantheon" and talked for a while.
I can honestly say I have never seen a place more green and beautiful in my life. I hope I can go back someday! And so I say, goodbye until later Stourhead.
We then drove back which took about 3 hours and when we got off the bus they gave us 5 pounds to spend somewhere for dinner. We decided to try this place called "Tortilla" that we heard was really good but we couldn't end up finding it and so we just found a little Italian restraunt called "Ponti's Italian Kitchen". I shared a pizza with Kristen and she asked for Ham on her side and let me tell you, it is not like the USA!
It was like raw, sliced, deli meat. Not the little candian bacon ham slices in triangles. Haha.
We then came back, relaxed and did LOTS of homework! Yay!
Cheerio!
P.S. Sorry for the long post...I warned you!
