Another Day Trip...

We had to get up early and eat breakfast, pack our lunches and get on the coach because we headed out on another day trip. Our first stop was Runnymede.

This is the place where the Magna Carta was signed by King John (the one in Robin Hood). Pretty cool…but in a random spot in the middle of a field in the middle of a forest!

(This is me reenacting the signing of the Magna Carta)
Our next stop was Windsor. There we saw the beautiful castle! It was HUGE (I think it was 400,000 square feet…or something like that. I couldn't get a picture of the whole castle and so here is one from online so you can see how big it is!)

(This is me...with a crown on my head...trying to pretentd to be a princess. Did I fool ya?).
We then were able to watch the Changing of the Guard. It was pretty cool to watch and to see them in full uniform. They even came in playing music (the song from Pride and Prejudice with the militia came in).
It was great to go through all the rooms and there was even a huge doll house that had books in it with real pages with words, the plates on the tables were made out of real silver and the lights actually were run by electricity. Cool!
We then passed a cute candy shop that looked like (and even rivaled) the candy shop in Willy Wonka. And...when we walked in...they started playing music from the show, how cool! I was in Heaven! We also passed this restaurant...with the funniest (no pun intended) name!
By this time we were all so tired. I had not been to bed earlier than one and hadn’t gotten up later than 7:30. Our next two stops were not ones anyone particularly wanted to go to, but we did anyways. When we got there we all...passed out...
The first one was John Miltons house. He is a poet, mostly known for writing “Paradise Lost”.
(This is me and good old Milton. What an attractive fellow!)
This is his house, we spent a short time looking around inside and spent the rest of the time laying on his grass taking a nap. Thanks Milton, you have a comfy lawn!

Our last stop was Stoke Poges. It is the place where Thomas Gray, the poet, was inspired and wrote a poem, called the Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard (or something like that). It was funny because the bus was silent the whole trip because we would sleep on the bus until our next stop, get off (we had no clue where we were, we just obeyed) and then get back on the bus and slept again.

For dinner that night we had a “5 Pound Night” where we are given money to go get something to eat for dinner. We decided to try out the restaurant “Wagamamas”. It was kind of Japanese food and nothing looked too appetizing to me, but I actually liked what I got. So that was good.
After a long day and week we just decided to come back, relax and do some homework! Yay! Cheerio!
