So the weather has changed here...drastically! It has been cold and rainy is past month and we could never go anywhere with out a jacket or two. But...it is now super SUNNY! I swear it is about as warm as Arizona (ok, maybe not) but goodbye jackets and hello skirts!
Most of the tube lines were down today and so we took the bus to the Victoria Station and once again got on the train to Penge East to head to the Crystal Palace Ward.
Let me back up a little bit. We have been waiting for our callings now for a long time and finally yesterday they emailed us all of our callings. Everyone was split up to a different organization and I was put in Relief Society. I was hoping partially to be in the Primary because the kids are ADORABLE, but I am happy to serve wherever. When we got there they met with us and I talked to the Relief Society President, Sister Anniversary (that is her first name, no joke), and she said they would like me to teach one time and so I am assigned to teach from the Gospel Principles Manual on June 13th. It is on the Life of Christ and so hopefully it won't be too hard but to tell you the truth...I am scared out of my mind! Because a)I can't understand half of the women in the Relief Society, b)sometimes their comments are not correct doctrine and so I need to figure out how to politely let them know, c)most are new converets and so I am not sure how much they know or what I can really teach. I am sure the Lord will help me though plan and prepare what they need to hear and help me teach it so I can understand them and be guided to answering their questions.
After we got home from church (1.5 hours after it ended) we headed to the park to read. It was a beautiful day outside and it felt good to just relax, be in the sun and read.

We then had a wonderful dinner and then a fireside. The 2nd counselor in the Stake Presidency was supposed to come and talk to us, and he did, but he brought a special guest. It was Alex Boye, he is in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and has recorded some other cd's as well. He talked to us for a little bit about the scriptures and asked if any one had them with them. No one did...except me! He called me out and used my scriptures in his message! Cool! (He was also being filmed for a promo thing, so you never know...my scriptures might show up on screen! Stay tuned!)
We are now just packing for Scotland and getting ready for an early morning tomorrow. We also have a free day in Scotland on Tuesday and so I am trying to plan what to do!
Cheerio!
Top 'o the morning to you. You may not see this until you return from Scotland, but no matter. I trust you had a great trip. Edinburgh (edin-burra) has some really great places to visit as well as Glascow. Near there (Robroyston) is the memorial where William Wallace was captured (Brave Heart). There is a latin inscription there. It is a great one that all who love freedom would appreciate. If you get to see it, take a picture of it for me.

I love Alex Boye! Got one of his CD's and have heard him perform at a concert and in the play BIG RIVER! Did he sing for you? He's got the moves too! Enjoy Scotland; remember Ryan served his mission there, so your pics will probably bring back lots of memories! Fun reading your blog. Sounds like you're having the time of your life!
