So I didn' think I was that behind on blogging...but I guess I am. So on Saturday I was having a really hard time deciding what I wanted to do. So I first went out with a couple of people to "Portabello Road". It is kind of like a market and it is down one whole street with vendors setting up shop to sell random, fun, antique items.
It was a lot of fun to just look around and see the random things they were selling which included necklaces, cameras, pictures and shirts. I didn't buy anything but it was fun walking around.
Afterwards I came back and did some homework and figured out where our church was the next day and how to get there since I was the "group leader". I then decided to get out for a little bit so Rachel and I went and got a "Ben's Cookie's". (Everyone here has been there already and they are really famous. Kind of like the Krispy Kreme of the doughnut world). So we went and got one...
I got dark chocolate chunk. It was really delicious and they somehow don't really cook the middle so it is like cookie dough in the middle of the cookie. I am sure I will have to try at least one more before I leave!
We then (not really by my choice) went to the National Gallery. It is a place with lots of paintings and art. I always thought that I am a museum person, that I appreciate art and that I could spend hours looking around one. Nope, I could not have been more wrong. I wish that I could appreciate things more and understand them but I just get bored after a while and everything begins to look the same. I was quite sad to find this out.
So then we came back and because they don't provide dinner for us on Saturday we had to go out and get some. We also had to put money on our tube pass to get to church the next morning. Stephanie and I wanted something cheap and quick, but good tasting...which is hard. I am not too adventrous when it comes to food and so we decided to get the most "British" food out there...KFC!!!
And now to some sad news...I heard the washers here were bad and hard on your clothes and so they reccommended buying a washable bag to put it in...which I did. I thought everything was fine and no one had had problems yet and so I washed some whites...
This is my shirt after it came out of the washer. I have no clue how it happened but thankfully it is the first shirt I have washed and so now I know. I might just have to hand wash my shirts from now on...if I can figure out how to! (My roommates tried to make me feel good by saying that it looked like fur or some other cool design and that it is totally the fashion right now!)
Cheerio!
