So we woke up early Saturday morning and we were on a mission...to do everything LONDON! We got dressed up and walked through Hyde Park to the Serpentine River where we decided to...row boats!!!!
We decided to do it for an hour (in the super hot sun!) and that we were going to be professionals and use ACTUAL paddles, instead of the peddling boats. We were not very good at it, but it made it that more fun.
We then realized it was just about the same boats and river from the movie, "What a Girl Wants" and because I was wearing a skirt I played Amanda Bynes trying to learn how to bow. Don't worry, I didn't fall in!
Afterwards we had "afternoon tea" at a place called the Orangery in Kensington Gardens. Which is a really fancy place where they serve drinks and little desserts.
It was SO delicious and I felt just like royalty! I got freshly squeezed lemonade and a little cupcake! It was the BEST cupcake I have ever eaten!
Another fun thing I can check off my list!
We then had to visit a few literary houses for our English Class and so we first went to Samuel Johnsons House (the poet).
It was under construction and so there was really nothing in the display cases but there were some fun costumes to try on! And really, thats all that matters!
(I am the one on the left, if you didn't know!)
We then headed over to Charles Dickens House. It was pretty neat to see some of his originial writings, paintings of him and get to know some of his background.
Afterwards we went to this place for dinner called Tuk Tuk.
It is Thai food. Kristen and I split something and though it tasted good, I am pretty sure I was allergic to it. I started itching all over (as if I had chicken pox!) I took some allergy medicine though and was fine afterwards!
Cheerio!

Looks like another wonderful day in London Town! So happy for you! Glad you didn't end up in the lake! It reminded me of the time you and I tried to canoe down the snake river at the Hansen reunion and we kept going in circles! Enjoy every moment of this next week. It is going to fly by!
ReplyDeleteLove YOU!
I really think the world has lost a splendid entertainment by not being able to witness the canoeing frolic on the Snake River. I know I would have liked to have seen that. :-)
